Fire was not discovered.

when nothing was watching
and nothing needed permission.

Fire consumes, but it also translates.
Wood into ash.
Stone into glass.
Death into soil.

It is Earth’s oldest mouth—
the prototype.
Everything that eats came after
and learned by watching.

Volcanoes exhaled it.
Lightning summoned it.
The planet kept it close
as both tool and test.

Humans didn’t invent fire.
They were invited to borrow it.

And even now, when it returns—
through forests, cities, wires, and skies—
it isn’t rebelling.

It’s remembering.

Fire was never ours.

for a while.
