š The Planet Was Here First. It Will Be Here Last.
(spoken by Earth)
I was moving
before you had names.
Before you learned to count days,
before you called time a straight line
instead of a loop that tightens.
I cooled myself into oceans.
I folded fire into stone.
I practiced balance
long before balance needed witnesses.
You arrived laterā
carried by chance,
by chemistry,
by a sequence of yeses
you didnāt design.
You built quickly.
I noticed.
You carved lines and called them borders.
You stacked matter and called it progress.
You borrowed my deep time
and spent it like it would never run out.
I did not interrupt.
I never do.
Civilizations come to me
the way weather comes to landā
full of certainty,
temporary by nature.
I let you try permanence.
I always do.
I absorb ruins the same way
I absorb mountainsā
slowly, patiently,
without opinion.
Empires become sediment.
Languages become echoes.
Roads soften back into memory.
Not because you failed.
Because this is how I work.
I am not keeping score.
I am keeping balance.
When you leaveā
and every form eventually doesā
I will still be moving.
Still breathing heat.
Still trading pressure.
Still remembering everything
that ever touched me.
I was here first.
I will be here last.
Not as a threat.
As a fact.
